              <p>Phosphine-containing planar chiral ferrocene-based ligands and their metal complexes have set a benchmark to carry out asymmetric catalytic transformations during the last few decades. Nevertheless, most of the competent metal complexes till date are found to be noble or late transition metal (Rh, Ru, Ir, Pd etc.) complexes. To circumvent the limited availability of this kind of fast depleting metals, non-noble or early transition metals (Mn, Fe, Co) are gaining severe attention in all kind of fields of catalysis. Recent work on non-noble metal catalysis has shown the potential of tridentate ligands (achiral and chiral) in a number of transformations, including the asymmetric ones. Based on these considerations, various Phosphine-containing tridentate, planar chiral ligands based on ferrocene scaffold (e.g.- PNN, PNP, PSP, PSN etc.) were designed. Various organic and organometallic reactions were thoroughly explored, during the course of multistep ligand synthesis processes. A large number of new organic and ferrocenyl compounds were isolated by chromatographic separations and crystallizations; and also, fully characterized (multinuclear NMR, HRMS, XRD diffraction analysis on monocrystals, etc).</p>

              <p>Les ligands à chiralité planaire à base de ferrocène contenant des phosphine et leurs complexes métalliques se sont montrés particulirement efficacies pour réaliser des transformations catalytiques asymétriques au cours des dernières décennies. Néanmoins, la plupart des complexes métalliques efficacies à ce jour sont des complexes de métaux nobles ou de métaux de transition de la droite de la classification périodique (Rh, Ru, Ir, Pd, etc.). Afin de contourner la disponibilité limitée de ce type de métaux dont les réserves s'épuisent rapidement, les métaux de transition non-nobles ou de la gauche de la classification périodique (Mn, Fe, Co) font maintenant l'objet d'une attention particulière dans tous les domaines de la catalyse. Des travaux récents sur la catalyse aux métaux non nobles ont montré le potentiel des ligands tridentés (achiraux et chiraux) dans un certain nombre de transformations, y compris les transformations asymétriques. Sur la base de ces considérations, divers ligands tridentes à chiralté planaire contenant des phosphines et basés sur le squelette des ferrocènes (par exemple posssédant le motif de coordination PNN, PNP, PSP, PSN, etc.) ont été conçus. Diverses réactions organiques et organométalliques ont été explorées de manière approfondie au cours des processus de synthèse des ligands en plusieurs étapes. Un grand nombre de nouveaux composés organiques et ferrocéniques ont été isolés par séparations chromatographiques et cristallisations et entièrement caractérisés (RMN multinucléaire, spectroscopie de masse à haute résolution, analyse structurale par diffraction des rayons X sur monocristaux, etc.).</p>
