The Indo-French MANDU project. Research on the Archaeological Landscape and Waterscape of the Former Capital of Malwa Sultans, Central India

Résumé

Information session for the Archaeological Survey of India "The MANDU project is an interdisciplinary research project focusing on society-environment interaction in relation to water management, climatic variability, and the making of the built environment in both “urban” and “rural” contexts during the medieval period, with a particular focus on late medieval-early modern times. Investigations are carried out from a land-waterscape archaeological perspective and focus on the area of Mandu in Central India (Dhar District, MP), the former capital of the Malwa Sultanate from c. 1400 CE."
