An Integrated Approach to Mechatronic System, Production System, and Manufacturing Process Design: Optimizing Solutions Using SBCE Principles and MBSE Model
Résumé
In the context of Industry 4.0, engineering products must be smarter, more efficient and more compact. Manufacturing firms are now compelled to adjust their production systems with constant and unforeseen changes in customer needs in order to address different needs and usage modes. Consequently, manufacturing as well as production constraints must be considered early in the design process of complex systems. This paper presents a novel approach for incorporating production and manufacturing constraints into the product design process. To achieve this, we integrate the principles of Set Based Concurrent Engineering SBCE with the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) method, aiming to minimize iterative communication loops between engineering stakeholders.
