A simple model for the crystal-to-amorphous phase transition under laser annealing conditions
Résumé
Abstract A very simple model of the crystal-to-amorphous transition under conditions of laser surface treatments is proposed. A phenomenological expression is given for the rate of advancement of the crystal-to-liquid transition, the parameters of which can be determined from fits to isothermal calorimetry experiments. Typical predictions of overheating and amorphization are then presented as an illustration of possible uses of the model.
