The Location Selection Problem of a Logistic Platform Considering Weak and Limited Sustainability

Résumé

There has been a surge of interest, over the past years, in developing tools to locate selection problem. This research work proposes a new framework to select location considering two types of sustainability perspectives: weak and limited. Firstly, the importance weight of indicators is computed by employing Fuzzy FUll COnsistency Method (F-FUCOM). Then, a modified Fuzzy MultiAttributive Ideal-Real Comparative Analysis method (F-MAIRCA) considering two sustainability perspectives is applied to rank seven location alternatives. Finally, a sensitivity analysis is conducted, and the proposed framework is validated in the logistic platform in the city of Sfax (Tunisia). The computation results obtained in the considered case show that the economic and environmental dimensions should be taken into account for location selection problem. It is obvious that the ranking alternatives change by using different aggregation methods based on the modified F-MAIRCA. The main originality of this study consists in selecting the best location by considering five sustainability dimensions (economic, environmental, social, political, and spatial) and relying on short- and medium-term decisions. The resulting analysis helps actors take the best decision to solve the location selection problem of a logistic platform.
