Symbolic Regression for Dynamic Tether Modeling in Underwater Robotics
Résumé
This abstract presents a compact, data-enhanced model of tether dynamics for underwater vehicles in a chain of ROVs. Building on an augmented catenary representation, we apply symbolic regression (PySR) to derive dynamic equations linking attachment point motion to tether deformation. The resulting model balances physical insight and computational efficiency, enabling future real-time control and obstacle avoidance strategies
