              <p>This work presents the use of engineered auxetic structures (EAS) to enhance Piezoelectric Energy Harvesters (PEH) performance. Parametric studies on Finite Elements Modeling software COMSOL Multiphysics on equivalent models were used to study orthotropic EAS mechanical characteristics influence on piezoelectric aspects such as Electromechanical Coupling Coefficient (EMCC). Results show that even if the material EMCC is improved using EAS, the energy ratio in the piezoelectric layers becomes low, hence the global EMCC is not really improved compared to optimal continuous substrate.</p>
