Un trattato antiplatonico ad Alessandria?
Résumé
My contribution develops a reflection on two fragments related to the treatise Περὶ τῶν ὑπὸ Πλάτωνος μετενηνεγμένων ἐξ Ὁμήρου by Ammonius of Alexandria. The scholium Sch. A Il. 9.540a1 Did. is a valuable witness to the title of the work, although it gives no information about its content. The fragment of Pseudo-Longinus’ de Sublimitate helps to shed light, albeit partially, on the structure of the work and the themes it dealt with. The hypothesis of whether it is an anti-Platonist writing and whether there are accusations of plagiarism will be considered. Finally, Ammonius’ treatise will be placed in the broad intellectual context of the Alexandrian library in the 2nd century BC and of the exegetical work on prose texts.
