Innovative methodological framework for virtual human centered design

Résumé

This paper describes an innovative simulation platform and a live adaptive experimental protocol to include the human centered design approach for the researcher in Automated Vehicle design. With the spreading use of automated driving systems, Human drivers will adjust their activities and habits. This early stage research paper presents an innovative integration of tailored driving situations proposed to human drivers. To address issues about impacts on driver's decision-making in highway lane change situations after an automated phase, the Virtual Human Centered Design platform is used. It implements the adaptive experimental protocol, including driving simulation, automated vehicles simulation and dynamic situations computation.
