Proximidad, territorio y LEADER: actores, recursos y formas de innovación en la comarca de A Limia (Ourense)
Résumé
The EU LEADER approach fosters territorial cooperation and contribute to the processes of productive reorganisation of local economies. It is undeniable that the integration of activities promoted by local action groups contributes to the maintenance of rural areas, the improvement of the local economy, and social equity. However, at the local level, these development models present, in some cases, uneven growth and 62 sometimes lead to a polarisation of development towards municipalities with greater demographic dynamism. The different dimensions of the proximity concept provide a relevant framework for understanding these dynamics from a geographical perspective. To this end, the spatial distribution and forms of implementation of the EU LEADER initiatives are analysed to identify the taxonomy of stakeholders, resources, forms of innovation, and sectors involved. A cluster analysis is carried out on the projects executed by the GDR Limia-Arnoia. The study has allowed us to contrast how much the geographical proximity is. The results show that the capacity of local actors to take advantage of the comparative advantages of geographical and relational proximity is fundamental for the location of investment.
