We will begin by briefly recalling some important concepts from Roger Odin’s semio-pragmatics, particularly the notion of communication spaces. After introducing key concepts from the Semiotics of Cooperative Transactions (SCT)—such as the difference between transaction and interaction, between medium artifact and object artifact, etc.—we will present the evolving meanings of the term "dispositif" in SCT: digital documentary mediation dispositifs, information and communication dispositifs, and then a ternary approach to dispositifs, including access, actantial, and creative dispositifs. In the concluding discussion, we will revisit the main differences and complementarities between these conceptual frameworks. Semio-pragmatics makes significant contributions to the analysis of semiotic content, particularly the textualization dispositif, which is less prominent in SCT. We will also demonstrate that the relationship to semiotics follows different paradigms—textual, contextual, and ontological semiotics—with the latter contributing to the description of activities and practices that are not exclusively textual and are specific to different worlds, drawing on findings from the humanities and social sciences.
