Physical properties of the quasi-one dimensional substituted perylene cation radical salt
Résumé
We report the results of an experimental investigation of the conducting salt(1,2,7,8 tetrahydrodicyclopenta[cd:lm]-perylene)2PF6, performed under pressure. The carrier localization which is observed below room temperature is not drastically affected up to 20Kbar. The behaviour of this present substituted perylene salt can be understood in terms of the onset of a Peierls 3-D ordering occurring around 150K together with a broad 1-D fluctuation regime extending up to room temperature or so. Such a model is also supported by X-ray diffuse scattering data showing the condensation of 2kF diffuse line (1-D) into Bragg satellites on cooling below 150K.
