This contribution focuses on lonely hearts and matrimonial ads, in so far as they question the object of the discourse that they contain, in connection with a definition of the textual genre which characterizes them. Certain discursive processes, which make lonely hearts ads stereotypical micro-discourses, are thus highlighted. But this article particularly intends to show that certain factors of individualization are a break in this stereotypy. It is this reason that this contribution wonders about what is really brought out in lonely hearts ads, while analyzing the discursive forms linked to male / female gender.
