A Wrist-Worn Electret Energy Harvester Enhanced By Intermittent Switching To The Motor Mode

Résumé

In this paper, we propose a new method for enhancing the DC output power of wrist-worn rotational electret energy harvester (REEH) for low walking speeds. By intermittently switching the REEH from the harvester to the electret motor, the limit cycle can be jumped into a "higher" branch. With the aid of a short-circuit synchronous electrical charge extraction (SC-SECE) circuit, up to 10 times higher output power has been obtained at the simulated walking speed of 3 km/h.
