              <p>The pressure (P) and temperature (T) phase diagram of propylammonium tetrachloromanganate (PAMC) is studied in the stability region of the incommensurate phase. Using neutron scattering, we measured the variation of the wave vector and the amplitude of the structural distortion as a function of P and T. The reentrant character of this phase is unambiguously established by applying a hydrostatic pressure up to 1200 bars. Above this limit the incommensurate phase is shown to be no longer stable. In the whole incommensurate region, the period of the modulation remains roughly independent of P and T, whereas its amplitude continuously increases from zero at the phase boundary. This is well accounted for by a parabolic contour line with a thermal-expansion to compressibility ratio of 28 bars/K.</p>
