              <p>Cement and concrete structures are daily exposed to many organic pollutants that make their surface dirty. To handle this problem, titanium dioxide nanoparticles (NT) are incorporated into cementitious materials to create new multifunctional, self-cleaning materials.With the combination of Portland cement (PC), calcium aluminate cement (CAC), and calcium sulfate, a ternary binder system was developed for its use in fast-setting repair mortar and composite materials. In order to research a multifunctional mortar based on a ternary binder system and NT, this paper presents the influence of NT on hydration and mechanical performances of the mortar by conducting X-ray diffractions (XRD) and mechanical strength tests. The microstructure of mortars was also investigated by using a scanning electron microscope (SEM).</p>
