Shakespeare and the Postcolony: 'Loving' the Colonial Icon Critically
Résumé
Shakespeare and Postcolonial Theory, a 2019 book authored by Jyotsna G. Singh provides us with tools to evaluate, challenge, destabilise and reinterpret the sentiment of a largely-unquestioned ‘love’ for Shakespeare. It is a valuable resource for Shakespeare scholars as well as postcolonial scholars who seek to (re)read the playwright’s works using a postcolonial and decolonising lens.
