"La crise de la COVID-19 comme révélateur du renforcement de la souveraineté économique des Etats: l'exemple des mécanismes de filtrage des investissements étrangers"
Résumé
The Covid-19 crisis resulted, in the spring of 2020, in numerous State reactions of economic downturn. Among these, the strengthening of foreign investments screening mechanisms may seem to be merely a specific response to a circumstantial risk of predatory acquisitions in a few strategic sectors such as medical and pharmaceutical research. But this article tends to demonstrate that the trend towards the consolidation of national screening mechanisms is, in fact, older and deeper. States are seeking to better control incoming investment flows, in the name of a sovereignty and a security that are increasingly turned to essentially economic considerations.
