HYDRATED NA-MG-SULFATE SUGGESTS WARMER CONCENTRATED FLUIDS INFILTRATED THE SULFATE UNIT, GAME CRATER, MARS
Résumé
We identify a new hydrated Na-Mg-Sulfate phase in the light- and dark-toned bands of the Gale Crater Sulfate Unit. This phase is nearly exclusive to dark-toned materials, indicates warm (>7°C) fluid temperatures, and suggests complex brine processes.
