A Miniature Low-Profile MHMIC Antenna Array For Millimeter-Wave Identification Readers
Résumé
In this paper, a high directive miniature 60-GHz 8by-1 microstrip antenna array is presented and analyzed. To achieve a reduced size and ease of integration into MMID reader devices, the proposed antenna array has been designed on a thin ceramic substrate (εr = 9.9, h = 127 μm), using an MHMIC (Miniature Hybrid Microwave Integrated Circuits) fabrication process. The proposed array configuration has exhibited excellent performance in terms of realized gain (peak gain of 14 dB) and radiation efficiency (around 75%). All those features make it a suitable candidate for integrated MMID readers to locate transponders in high-density sensor networks.
