Foresight as a catalyst for social reconciliation

Résumé

This presentation explores the intersection of foresight, artificial intelligence (AI), and social reconciliation within the context of Morocco's evolving social landscape. It examines how AI and machine learning (ML) can enhance foresight methodologies to promote human rights and address cultural conflicts as Morocco navigates its digital future. Inspired by the principles of Gaston Berger's "attitude prospective" and foundational Moroccan social theorists, the research contextualizes foresight as both a methodological and philosophical approach—"seeing far, seeing broad, analyzing in depth, and considering people"—to anticipate and mitigate cultural tensions. Aiming to understand how digital tools can act as drivers for societal harmony, the study applies AI to examine case scenarios of reconciliation and to predict potential conflicts by 2030. Using a mixed-methods approach grounded in ethical data practices, the presentation emphasizes the need for privacy, informed consent, and data-sharing transparency. This foresight-driven approach intends to serve as a model for applying emerging technologies within human rights frameworks, ultimately advocating for a society that leverages digital innovation to build a more cohesive social fabric.
