For a cohesive city? Participatory art projects and the cultural vitality of urban spaces

Résumé

The aim of this conference is to explore the role and impact of participatory art projects in fostering social ties and inclusive collective dynamics between the inhabitants of a city or district. Drawing on one case study, I will discuss how these projects can be part of a culture of proximity and make a subtle contribution to local cultural vitality. The case study is the Assemblé project run by the Centre national de la danse (the French National Dance Center).
