New News Formats on/by Digital Social Networks
Résumé
First observations from the study question the very notion of editorial enunciation, as the role of digital social networks (DSNs) is so important in the ways in which stories are told, visibility is raised and information is shared. Way for the media/DSN to build its temporality is to distance itself from the media agenda, which corresponds to a social, collective time, built by the classical media and their resonances. DSNs feel and behave like media by building editorial space and time, controlling access to audiences, and establishing publication rules and formats without producing any content. At the heart of questioning is the type of relationships that are being built between news producing media and DSNs. The different point of attention concerns the difficulty of identifying a media territory, as it is so logical in terms of fragment and fragmentation.
