EVALUATION OF THE SATISFACTION OF PALLIATIVE CARE CANCER PATIENTS USING A VIRTUAL REALITY HEADSET
EVALUATION DE LA SATISFACTION DES PATIENTS, ATTEINTS D'UN CANCER, PRIS EN CHARGE EN SOINS PALLIATIFS, BÉNÉFICIANT D'UN CASQUE DE RÉALITÉ VIRTUELLE
Résumé
The prevention of pain induced by care is a major public health issue, recognized by the "Plan d'Amélioration de la Prise en Charge de la Douleur" (Pain Management Improvement Plan) and certification criteria.
In palliative care, pain induced by care affects 11.8% of patients, with an average intensity of 4.72 on the VAS. Preventing this pain is one of the challenges of palliative care, and a key factor in improving the quality of care. In addition to existing medicinal methods (such as nitrous oxide, ketamine or transmucosal fentanyls), multimodal approaches using non-medicinal techniques have shown definite benefit.
In this context, the use of virtual reality headsets can be an efficient distraction method with an expected positive cost-benefit ratio.
