Being, each in a different way, heirs of the European movement that Deleuze defined as “conversion of belief”, Artaud, Beckett and Pasolini have a complex and controversial relationship with Christianism. Following the theory of the expérience intérieure (Bataille), this paper investigates this relationship to highlight the Christological nature of the the experiences of the sacred explored by the three authors in their works. The aim is to outline the fundamentals of a poetic of conversion that, calling into question Christianity and the image of Christ, rethinks fundamental Christian beliefs too free them from their ichnographic and dogmatic constraints. This process answers to the logics of “deconstruction od Christianism” (Nancy) and of that artistic gesture defined by Grosman as the “defiguration of the Christic form”.
