Contribution to decipher the role of localized translation for chloroplast biogenesis
Résumé
Previous proteomic analyses performed by our team identified tens of cyto-ribosomal subunits that are co-purified with the purified chloroplast envelope (Bouchnak et al., Mol cell Proteomics 2019) suggesting that cyto-ribosome might interact with the outer surface of chloroplasts. We were recently able to purify these plastid-associated cyto-ribosomes. These cyto-ribosomes contain specific components whose functions remain elusive. The present study aims to determine whether these yet uncharacterized components are involved in the control of the localized translation of nuclear-encoded plastid proteins at the chloroplast surface and thus, in the control of plastid biogenesis.
