              <p>À l’échelle macroscopique, des matériaux tels que les roches, les bétons ou les céramiques peuvent être considérés comme des milieux continus homogènes. Cependant, à l’échelle microscopique, ces matériaux sont constitués de microstructures complexes qui impliquent différentes phases. Certaines des ces microstructures peuvent être considérées comme constituées par des inclusions mono ou polycristallines liées entre elles par l’intermédiaire d’une matrice (vitreuse, cimentaire, etc.) qui assure la cohésion du matériau. Ces différentes phases possédant généralement des coefficients d’expansion thermique différents, il en résulte des contraintes résiduelles pouvant endommager le matériau soit, au refroidissement de l’étape d’élaboration, soit lorsque celui-ci est soumis à un cyclage thermique. Dans d’autres cas, l’endommagement à l’échelle de la microstructure peut être généré sous l’effet de l’anisotropie de dilatation thermique ntrinsèque des grains du matériau polycristallin. C’est ce dernier cas qui sera discuté ici. Cette étude propose de modéliser l’effet de l’anisotropie de dilatation thermique avec la méthode par éléments discrets puis d’étudier l’impact de cet endommagement sur des paramètres thermomécaniques macroscopiques. Les résultats numériques obtenus sont comparés à des observations expérimentales réalisées sur un matériau modèle.</p>
