Noise Radiation and Dynamics of Slat Cove Vortices Revisited in Light of a Parametric LBM Study
Résumé
A CFD-CAA data generation framework for slat noise based on the Lattice Boltzmann solver ProLB. coupled with a Ffowcs-Williams Hawkings solver for far-field noise computations, is presented. The data generated using parametric simulations are then investigated, to uncover the vortex behaviour and acoustic sources. The cove flow behaviour in the spanwise direction is seen to be modulated similar to the spanwise modulation of open cavity flows. An attempt is also made to relate the curvature of the separated shear layer for different parametric cases to the vortex dynamicresulting slat noise characteristics.
