Interactive Enterprise Semantic Cartography for more resilient organizations
Cartographie d'entreprise sémantique et interactive pour des organisations plus résilientes
Résumé
According to ISO 22316:2017 [2], "Organizational resilience is the ability of an organization to absorb and adapt in a changing environment to enable it to deliver its objectives and to survive and prosper." [2] states that the more resilient organizations can anticipate and respond to threats and opportunities, arising from sudden or gradual changes in their internal and external context. A commitment to enhanced organizational should contributes to 1) an improve ability to anticipate and ad-dress risks and vulnerabilities 2) an increased coordination and integration of management disciplines to improve coherence and performance 3) a greater understanding of interested parties and dependencies that support strategic goals and objectives. The authors of this paper consider that the reverse is true, i.e. that organizations can't be resilient without having means and practices allowing to anticipate and address risks and vulnerability, to increase coordination and integration of management disciplines to improve coherence and performance and finally a greater understanding of interested parties and dependencies that support strategic goals and objectives. Such challenges have been addressed the last years by emerging standardized Enterprise Modeling Frameworks (e.g. Unified Modeling Framework - UAF [4]), Methods (e.g. TOGAF [6]) and visual modeling languages (e.g. ArchiMate [5]). However, actual enterprises' practices and usage of various but unfortunately siloed and heterogeneous Enterprise Repositories make it difficult to handle the complexity of the always evolving organization within a continuously changing environment. The heterogeneity concerns usage, responsibilities, ownerships, enterprise modeling related metamodel and underlying implementation technologies with associated realization languages. Semantic and structural data aggregation in particular is challenging due to non-interoperability issues, when willing to support the understanding of the whole considered organization.
