Hydropower Plants Modelling for Monitoring Purposes

Résumé

In this paper, a direct hydromechanical modelling approach is proposed for hydropower plants, capturing their main characteristics via a few physical parameters of industrial interest. A kinetic model is developed and compared to the standard mechanical model while some parameters are estimated using an instrumental variable method. The model is finally validated with industrial data, showing a good consistency between real behaviors and simulated ones.
