Magneto-Optical investigation on magnetic domains and walls’ properties of GOES samples engraved with pulsed lasers under a varying magnetic field

Résumé

This paper contributes to the characterization of magnetic structures and reversal mechanisms of GOES (Grain-Oriented Electrical Steels) engraved with pulsed lasers as a function of process parameters and patterns with the MOKE (MagnetoOptical Kerr Effect) and MOIF (Magneto-Optical Indicator Film) techniques while varying the magnetic field. The motivation is to discriminate the impact of Pulsed Laser (PL) parameters (pulse energy, duration, repetition frequency, scanning speed, spacing between lines perpendicular to the Rolling Direction (RD) . . . ) on microscopic topography and magnetization mechanisms. Three different pulse durations are considered: Long (LPL), Short (SPL) and Ultra Short (USPL). MOKE and MOIF contrasts are analysed thanks to the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) while varying the field at low frequency.
