L’angelo custode degli immigrati: la missione di Scalabrini in Brasile (1904)
Résumé
In 1904 Giovanni Battista Scalabrini went to Brazil aiming to inspect the situation of the Italian immigrants who had been assisted overseas by his Congregation. The bishop traveled through four different states and met with local authorities. This paper offers a framing of this event by highlighting the link between religion, politics and migration in Brazil.
