Sources for a local history of the workers’ education and empowerment in the Paris’ Red Belt (North-East suburbs, 19th-21st Centuries)

Résumé

This paper presents the first findings of an on-going research project launched in February 2022 entitled: Women and men worker’s knowledge, education, and training in the Seine-Saint-Denis (19th-21st Centuries). Gathering researchers from different universities and disciplines (history, sociology, educational studies…), but also archivists, heads of history or popular education societies, this project is aimed at discovering, assembling, and giving visibility to all sorts of archives documenting various kinds of education for workers which were set on a singular territory.
