Cosa insegnava Asclepiade di Mirlea fra i Turdetani (Strab. III, 4, 3) ?
Résumé
In the third book of his Geography, Strabo talks about Asclepiades of Myrlea and his activity as a teacher among the Turdetani. However, the description is somewhat unclear, as the terms used by the geographer,
παιδεύειν τὰ γραμματικά, are unique and challenging to interpret precisely. Based on Asclepiades’ other works, it is suggested that his teachings involved literary criticism, historical analysis, and textual interpretation of Greek epic poems.
