Telling your suffering or existing in another way : Individual resiliencies and subaltern resistance
Through the investigation of the conditions of the subaltern’s audibility and the stakes of its reception, this article analyzes the ways in which narratives of resilience, in monopolizing the discursive field of out-of-norm suffering, prevents the emergence of radical forms of emancipation that find no political space for expression. By examining diverse [productions of] normative framings of emotional experiences, I also clarify how these narratives maintain a homogenous narrative of self-management in an uncertain world.
