Professional artistic practices of artists with disabilities and social work: Overview and fresh outlook
Pratiques artistiques professionnelles des artistes en situation de handicap et travail social : bilan et renouvellement des perspectives

Special issue no. 19 of the journal “Sociographe” takes stock of the professionali- zation and inclusion of artists with disabilities in the performing arts, and presents the new approaches being developed in France and beyond. What is the current situation with regard to the spaces and mechanisms that enable the inclusion of people with psychic and learning disabilities in this field? What new challenges will this professionalization entail in the coming years, given the transformations taking place in the artistic field, the restructuring underway in the field of social work and disability, and the evolution of public policies? This introductory article discusses some of the answers to these questions provided in the issue.
Le numéro hors-série n° 19 de la revue du Sociographe propose un bilan de la professionnalisation et de l’inclusion des artistes en situation de handicap dans le champ des arts vivants, et présente les perspectives nouvelles qui s’élaborent en France et à l’étranger. Qu’en est-il des lieux et des dispositifs qui permettent aujourd’hui l’inclusion des personnes présentant un handicap psychique ou mental dans ce champ ? Quels sont les nouveaux enjeux que cette professionnalisation impliquera dans les prochaines années compte tenu des transformations du domaine artistique, des restructurations en cours dans le champ du travail social et du handicap, et de l’évolution des politiques publiques ? Cet article introductif discute quelques-unes des réponses à ces questions apportées dans le numéro.
