Automatic grid refinement and DDES-SST: The right tool for automotive flows
Résumé
This study discusses the comparison of numerical simulation of a Windsor model using the ISIS-CFD flow solver which uses the unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations. Two turbulence models are used: the k-w SST model and the hybrid RANS/LES model, the so-called DDES-SST. Two types of mesh are used: one generated by the organizers of the workshop AutoCFD3 and the second by using the automatic grid refinement (AGR). The use of AGR allows to converge faster in mesh and the use of the DDES-SST turbulence model allows to have results consistent with the experimental measurements.
