Résumé

This chapter discusses the impact of the ``calm'' invasion of the Internet-of-Things~(IoT) on people's private lives to the extent that the expected benefits of IoT have become concerns to people. To mitigate this impact, this chapter presents a Model-Driven~Architecture (MDA)-based approach for injecting privacy concerns into thing specifications so, that, things would become alert to these concerns and, hence, would act accordingly. Being alert should mean a better assessment of what needs to be done, when, and where prior to violating any privacy policies. For illustration and demonstration purposes, WoT Thing Description~(WoT TD) is adopted as an example of W3C thing specification. To make things aware of situation-related privacy concerns, the approach presented in this chapter defines SituationPrivacy metamodel, merges SituationPrivacy and WoT TD metamodels into SituationPrivacyWoTTD metamodel, and, finally, generates SituationPrivacyWoTTD model using an in-house case tool. Privacy concerns and the MDA approach that addresses these concerns are illustrated and demonstrated with a case study about a care center for elderly people.
