Thermal performance analysis of a Pulsating Heat Pipe with a long adiabatic section tested with different working fluids

Résumé

Heat transfer devices with a long adiabatic section are an attractive solution for several applications where the heat sink and the heat source are far apart. Long heat transfer devices can be applied as in a solar water heater (SWH) [1], in heat recovery of industrial processes [2] or in thermal energy storage technologies. Since the early 1990s, the Pulsating Heat Pipe (PHP) represents one of the most interesting two-phase passive heat transfer systems because of the high heat transfer performance. a huge versatility and a real simplicity in manufacturing
