Design and analysis of a Circulatory Assistance Benchmark Actuator for an Artificial Lung
Résumé
The ANR RHU Bio Art-Lung 2020 project aims to develop an extracorporeal artificial lung with reduced size and mass. An essential element of the system is its circulatory assist centrifugal pump, which ensures blood circulation. This article outlines the electrical motor's specifications and then presents an initial dimensioning using a design of experiments method. The final structure obtained from the sensitivity study is analyzed using 2D and 3D finite element (FE) methods. The motor performances resulting are compared to experimental results. Good concordance is shown between the test and finite element analysis (FEA). Index Terms-Circulatory assistance pumps, electric actuators, design of experiments, finite element modelling.
