Le château de Lassay, architecture savante ou pragmatisme militaire
Résumé
One of the singularities of Lassay castle lies in the building's homogeneity, making it possible to read the original program designed around 1458. The research carried out on the château in recent years has added to our knowledge of it, thanks to the use of technologies such as 3D surveying and geophysical prospecting. The restitution of the fire plan, as well as that of the fortress's surroundings, the analysis of the buildings and the historical research, now make it possible to ask what the Château de Lassay bears witness to: a military work built empirically, or a learned architecture of the mid-15th century? This article explores the different aspects of a fortified seigneurial dwelling, rebuilt in the second half of the 15th century.
