Résumé

The context for this dataset is an Applied languages Master’s degree course with a specialization in Multilingual Technical Communication offered by a French university. This Master’s puts into practice three languages - French, English and a third language (Arabic, German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Russian) - in a professional context specific to technical communication. The objectives of the course are (1) to build domain appropriate skills and competencies in technical communication; (2) to develop students' language skills through the acquisition of the various professional competencies expected on today's job market; and (3) to support students in the construction of their professional identity in the technical communication field. As part of a workshop project within this Master's programme, student groups produce instructions in both static and dynamic modes including a paper user guide, an online help system with full specifications, and instructional video tutorials. The latter productions form this data set. Year 1 productions are available from the 2019 instanciation of the workshop (n=3) and year 2 productions from the 2020 instanciation (n=4).
