Usage of TSN Per-Stream Filtering and Policing
Résumé
The Per Stream Filtering and Policing mechanism (PSFP) defined in amendment 28 of the 802.1Q standard presents a set of mechanisms designed to protect the network from faults other than losses (especially to protect from a switch sending more data than expected, leading to latency increase and buffer overflow). This report presents a comprehensive survey of the mechanisms, gives advice on its configuration, but also highlight some limits of the current standard.
