              <p>This article proposes an easily implementable and computationallyeffective model predictive control (MPC) scheme for fuel cell dc–dcboost converter. The proposed control scheme contains an explicitMPC method just with a single-step predictive horizon. Thus, thecomputational burden can be greatly reduced. To further enhance itsantidisturbance ability, the observer technique is adopted to,respectively, estimate the load impedance and input voltage for thepredictive models. Since the estimated variables can be directlysent to the cost function, the satisfactory disturbance rejectionperformance can be guaranteed with optimal control. Besides, anadditional reference current generation module based on theflatness theory is built to deal with the inevitable parameteruncertainties and the estimation errors. Thus, the nominal systemmodel can be directly adopted to further reduce the designcomplexity. Some simulation and experimental tests based on amultiphase interleaved fuel cell dc–dc boost converter areconducted to verify the superiority of the proposed control scheme.Results show that, with the proposed control scheme, both thedynamic performance and robustness of the closed-loop system aresatisfactory, which can help to contribute to the fuel cellapplications in transportation electrification.</p>
