Résumé
Madjedbebe is a sandstone rock shelter in Arnhem Land, Australia. It was excavated in 1973 by Johan Kamminga, in 1988 by Rhys Jones and Christopher Chippindale and, finally, in 2012 and 2015 by Christopher Clarkson et al. Madjedbebe is known as Australia's oldest archaeological site, with possible human occupation dated from around 65,000 years ago. It also includes an assemblage of rock art. Based on the 2012 and 2015 excavation and the results from radiocarbon and OSL dating, the sequence was divided into 7 phases. In the published study, the phases are roughly described with minimal and maximal altitude; however, in the dataset the objects are not individually associated to a phase. The dataset presented here includes 9136 lithic remains from the 2012 and 2015 excavations.
