Identification of multipolar equivalent magnetic sources located on any arbitrary surface enclosing a ship
Résumé
To extrapolate the magnetic signature of a ship, a model is necessary to represent the associated sources. Harmonic expansion for the field is a convenient model but is not valid in some areas close to the ship. In this work, we present a multipolar basis for equivalent sources located on any arbitrary surface enclosing the ship. While being valid close to the ship, this model exhibits a multipolar expansion property outside the limit sphere and only requires a limited number of unknowns. This model is then applied to identify the equivalent sources of a mock-up, from close field measurements.
