Linear Viscoelastic Limit Determination and Modeling for Binders with Physical Hardening Effects
Résumé
The objective of this research is to study the limit of linear viscoelastic behavior on a common straight-run bituminous binder at different temperatures and frequencies by performing strain amplitude sweep tests. A dynamic shear rheometer was used for the experimental campaign. An increase of complex modulus due to physical hardening was observed during strain amplitude sweep tests at low temperatures and frequencies. A correction method is proposed to consider the effect of physical hardening on complex modulus when evaluating the linear viscoelastic limit.
