Résumé
The Vatican City State was officially born on February 11, 1929, ending the "Roman Question" which had lasted since 1870, that is, since the invasion of the Papal State by the army led by General Raffaele Cadorna. This expression refers to the controversy around the city of Rome, which was both the seat of temporal power of the pope and the new capital of the kingdom of Italy.
L’État de la Cité du Vatican est officiellement né le 11 février 1929, mettant fin à la « question romaine » qui durait depuis 1870, c’est-à-dire depuis l’invasion de l’État pontifical par l’armée dirigée par le général Raffaele Cadorna. Cette expression fait référence à la controverse autour de la ville de Rome, qui était à la fois le siège du pouvoir temporel du pape et la nouvelle capitale du royaume d’Italie.
