Coloniality and intersectionality in mental health: a rallying call
This article seeks to develop a discussion about the #decolonisation of mental health in the context of humanitarian aid localisation. The authors discuss the political implications of the dominant approach to mental health and psychosocial support (#MHPSS), which are updated by means of a decolonial analysis. They also suggest introducing an #intersectional policy and method to this field of intervention in order to nurture a #localisation of humanitarian aid that is more mindful of specific local aspects and knowledge that underpin mental health and psychosocial support practices that make lives more liveable.
