              <p>Foams are dispersions of gas bubbles in water, stabilized by surfactants. Foams evolve with time due to three different processes: liquid drainage produced by gravity, bubble growth due to gas transfer and bubble coalescence. On Earth, only foams containing very small amounts of liquid can be studied. The gas transfer depends on the surfactant, essentially because of differences in permeability of the films separating gas bubbles. This permeability was measured using two-dimensional foams. Bubble coalescence may enhance the bubble's growth rate and ways to separate coalescence and coarsening effects were investigated. Coalescence can be promoted by small particles added in water (antifoam agents). Recent parabolic flights helped to clarify the underlying mechanism. The potential changes in behavior expected in wetter foams are discussed. Such wet foams will be studied in the International Space Station (project Foam C to be launched end of 2018). A description of the microgravity experiment (Soft Matter dynamics) will be presented</p>
